Lubbock-Cooper Laura Bush Middle School is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2021-2024.
Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence. They use Apple technology to connect students to the world, fuel creativity, deepen collaboration, and make learning personal.
“Being selected as an Apple Distinguished School is a great honor and direct reflection of the innovative and collaborative environment our teachers have created for students. Teachers have adapted practices to fit the needs of learners today. We are lucky to be in a district that values technology as a tool for teaching and learning. Preparing students to think critically, work collaboratively, and be creative in demonstrating mastery of content is of the utmost importance to us,” said Principal Kyle Hendrix.
The selection of Lubbock-Cooper Laura Bush Middle School as an Apple Distinguished School highlights our success in creating an innovative and compelling learning environment that engages students and provides tangible evidence of academic achievement. Our educators embrace the utilization of Apple technologies to meet the challenges presented in education today. We strive to elevate learning by allowing for differentiating and student choice in their educational experience. Students are encouraged to explore, create, and collaborate using technology to personalize their learning. Laura Bush Middle School looks forward to sharing our experiences with other schools and connecting with other Apple Distinguished Schools to continue to grow.
Lubbock-Cooper Laura Bush Middle School is one of two middle schools in Lubbock-Cooper ISD. In 2019, the campus (along with the entire Lubbock-Cooper Independent School District), implemented a one-to-one iPad initiative.
